Upskilling founders in Palestine to drive new economic growth

The World Bank’s vision

To build a vibrant startup ecosystem in Palestine, that can deliver positive economic growth by attracting investment into the most promising startups, creating new jobs, and developing local capability.

Taking the first step

Working with the World Bank and the local startup ecosystem, we developed an assessment framework for ideas. From 150 applications, we selected the top 30 startups to join the Ignite programme. 

Training Pathways

Accelerate speed to market: Aspire designed training that would equip startups with the skills needed to pitch for investment. The training was delivered with a blend of online learning, workshops and coaching with an aim of improving investment readiness.

Training was also given to support organisations to make them better able to assist startups effectively. 

Startups receive support in developing financing strategies, understanding investor metrics, and engaging with investors.

The Results

  • From the 30 startups we have supported to date, 11 have gone on to raise a total of $2.6m investment to scale their business.

  • This investment will creating further positive impact for the economy, with new jobs and revenue.
